Can the tiles be laid over an existing weathered wood deck?

HandyDeck decking tiles are a great way to bring an existing deck back to its former glory without a lot of trouble and expense.

Provided the surface and supporting framework are structurally sound and the surface is even, you simply lay the tiles directly on top of the existing wood deck.

And one of the big benefits of using our decking tiles is that if you have an upper level deck and want a dry area underneath, it's a very simple matter to achieve this by just laying down an EPDM sheet over the existing wood deck, and then placing the tiles on top of this sheet. It's a much more cost-effective way of achieving a waterproof under deck area than with most under deck ceiling systems - and best of all, you can do it yourself.

EPDM sheeting can be obtained in continuous sheets up to 50’ wide from specialist suppliers such as Resource Conservation Technology or  www.bestmaterials.com or some roofing products stores, so you can generally avoid having any seams which could otherwise create some leakage.
