Can I lay HandyDeck over worn, cracked concrete?

HandyDeck tiles are an excellent way of covering old cracked concrete and avoiding the expense and effort of breaking up and removing the existing concrete.

Providing the concrete is not so badly cracked that there would be height differences of more than about 3/8" on either side of any cracks, then you can simply lay the tiles directly over the top of the existing concrete.  Otherwise you should firstly level the surface with thinset or some other epoxy or polymer modified, cementitious patching and surfacing compounds such as Moxie 2000 Super Patch or Power Patch.

The pictures below show the dramatic transformation of an old gray, unused patio to a delightful entertaining area after the installation of EzyTile Tuscan Red porcelain tiles.
